Hey there guys! I recently found out that I am going to be going to Germany. I got my orders a couple months ago and after being told by my command that I could decline them, I've recently found out that I cannot do this. I have one other option and that's to get someone I know to pull some strings to get me into Alaska or possibly keep me where I am at in South Carolina. What does this mean as far as my status with World of Warcraft and LaG? I want to stay friends with people I know in the guild but as far as World of Warcraft goes, I would like to experience other parts of the game in the future (I.E. BWL, AQ20/40 Man, instances after expansion, etc.) and I don't believe I'd be able to accomplish any of these with LaG considering where I will be going is 6 hours ahead of Burning Blade's time. More than likely, I'll need to find a European server and get started over there. If I can't seem to find somewhere that feels like home, I'll probably discontinue paying for my account and return back to Guild Wars where I don't have to dedicate so much time. This might be the last month that you see me attending raids in World of Warcraft for awhile since I will be going back to New York to say farewell to my family and friends in April and I'll be doing alot of outprocessing paperwork in May. I'll see everyone around

Turns out that if I want to participate on a European server, I need to purchase a European copy of the game. Seems dumb to me since I've already payed for a CD key.

Do me a favor and don't make any decisions about WoW or gaming until you are comfortable in your new situation. As far as I'm concerned your place at the LaG table will remain reserved as long as you want it to.
Take some time, get your RL situations to a point where you are in your new routine and check in occasionally. You may find that you can participate more than you foresee and at worst we'll stay in touch when possible (Rezyth was in Germany as well and found time to make raids and hang out when they were scheduled to a point where he could do so).
And btw... Thank you for sacrificing so much to play a role in our military. It is to be commended.

Yeah, I'm not going to just run off and /gquit or anything. I'll give it some time and see how my schedule is and if LaG decides to have "set times" for raids, it will be much easier to figure out what I will be able to attend if anything. Initially when I get there, I probably won't have an internet connection but after getting settled in, I should be able to get online and let everyone know how things will be going for me.

We are about to have "set times" that we'll announce in the next week or so. Hopefully it will make it as easy as possible for you, and everyone else in tougher time zones, to make raids regularly.

Don't leave me Hellhulk... Alone with Hodges. Seriously though, I hate to see you leave like this, but you gotta do what you gotta do. And like Jagor said, thank you for your sacrifice in keeping our country safe.

Hey man,
Don't worry about it, I know from experience, more so than some would think. Having spent a year in iraq, the time difference isn't that bad. You'll get used to things. More importantly don't worry about games for now. Worry more on your situation and getting yourself settled, IE take care of your family see your friends and enjoy the time you have with them now. You won't miss em till they're not there trust me on this. On the other hand you'll be having so much fun in germany in your off time I doubt you'll get much gaming done anyways. Don't worry bout us we'll be here, post whenever bro. You won't mind germany though. Once you get settled you'l in your work schedule you'll figrue out what works for you. In the meantime from GI to GI take care of yourself, specially if your ghoing to germany for premobilization. Keep us posted.
