I envy you...  I just can't get the right balance!

Without being a coffee snob about it, I really feel as though picking a quality brew helps a good deal.

For a long time, I had the can of Hills Bros French Roast next to the coffee maker.  My logic was that if I was too asleep to really taste it, what did it matter?

However I transitioned over to a more expensive bean with the idea that I'd drink a whole lot less of it.  So far, it's great.  I actually really enjoy my cup instead of just using it to pry my eyelids apart like some sort of chemical crowbar.  More over, I think I feel happier... not sure if that's due to a better quality of chemical being dumped into my blood or actually just enjoying the flavor.

Anywho, off to grin at my bosses.  It always unnerves them when I look happy (especially when I have a ton of work... which I do... paper going out for publication next week...) which makes it like 10x more fun.

<-- coffee snob, and not afraid to admit it.

I will not drink coffee just to drink it in the mornings. If it tastes like crap, I'd rather be groggy and tired all day long. I used to be a Foldger's French Roast guy, but now I'm hooked on Gevalia's Breakfast Blend. Quality stuff there. Great flavor, and I only need 2 cups of it in the morning to be primed for the day.

Dude, you should have seen me when I visited the Kona Coffee plants in Hawaii.  I picked up like 15 lbs of coffee while there for later consumption Tongue

Yeah, I buy some gevalia too.  At first I just wanted the free coffee pot, but I ended up really liking some of their blends (word to the wise... stay away from gevalia's "cinnamon" I thought it might be a nice holiday flavor, but it's TERRIBLE).  I also went off the deep end and now french press all of my coffee.  It tastes better but clean up is a chore Tongue

I haven't seen any french presses to buy, otherwise I'd be doing that as well.
