Riddle me this batman

So I was messing around the boards and I found this little gem of a fact.
Most Online: 143 - June 27, 2007, 08:23:22 AM

That means on June 27 2007 at 8:23 AM we had 143 people on the forums at the same time. I assume most of them were guests but I mean what the hell was going on during that time on that date. Granted this is MST so it was a bit later for most of you folks but still. It is still mind boggling to me that we have 885 members and have guests looking at our forums on a regular basis.

I doubt those were real users. If you take a look at the forum history, the rough average for the month were 15-20 at peak. Two days it was over 100. The only reason for this would either be Donnie's Mage guide being linked (I think that was a lot sooner, but I'm not sure as I was away during this time), or some other kind of link at a highly trafficked location. But then it doesn't make much sense on why it trailed off so quickly. Back to ~20 peak in two days. It might have been some kind of bot/script net smacking our site.

What I think is equally impressive though, is the fact that we average almost 1 new user a day.

Right now we're at around 1,500 unique visitors a week. The Mage guide, while outdated, still generates a lot of traffic (anyone wanna volunteer to rewrite it?).

Part of what I hope to do with the site changes next week is set up our site to provide more editorial content in addition to the news provided by the bits.

We are also going to begin to steer in the direction of a community staff...

Either way, people seem to love coming to our site for whatever reason (hello our 8 Singapore regulars).

If any of you are wondering why I am so active on the boards today it because I am waiting for my last final to start and quite frankly the wait is killing me. I have gone over this crap again and again. Just wan to take the damn test.
