I've downloaded it and I'm about to begin installation!  I'll give it a whirl, see if I like it or not.

So I2ed didn't like it. I have to point out that he got owned though.  Tongue

It's not a good game, but it's a fun game. And it's small. And it's free. And everyone can play it. I thought It'd be a good idea, but there's another game (that I2ed pointed out) that's also free, but is much better, Warsow. Opinions?

I'm going off on a tangent in this thread, just because I felt like it.   Tongue  Warsow "feels" and looks a lot better.  Either that or OpenArena (basically a direct copy of Quake III, open sourced).  I guess the thing I don't like about these free FPSes is that they're either tactical shooters (America's Army, Hidden & Dangeous, etc) or they're Quake clones.  I just wish someone did something interesting and unique.  Something I could go, "That's the game I've been looking for!"  As opposed to.. "I bought some games, they're better in every way imaginable."  For homebrewed games, you'd just think there was more thought and creativity involved in these games.  I guess you get what you paid for, but there's usually something underground that is just so much better than commercial products.  The search continues!

So I tried Warsow. Obviously the game itself is better than Nexuiz for general control and graphics, but not when it comes to fighting. The game is great for trick jumping, but when it comes to combat - booooooo!

It's an exact replica of QuakeIII, with less textures and different weapons. I rather play the real QuakeIII or even the demo.

They even have these maps where there is no fighting, all you do is race to the finish, while trick-jumping.

Ahem, First Person SHOOTER.

That's all I have to say about that.

I rather 1v1 in Nexuiz over Warsow any day, Nexuiz has the old UT feel to it. If any one has tried Unreal Gold? That's pretty much what Nexuiz is, cept with the Quake engine.
