This is my first guide, breakdown of Zul'Aman. I'm trying to explain the most common things that may ruin your mount runs, pug raids, atmosphere and general run's smoothness. Those are things I observed as fury/enhancement DPS, resto shaman healer or protection warrior tank.
I hope that it'll help someone and if you spot any errors, feel free to comment them on.
It is mainly focused on mount run, without describing perfect group compositions etc.

Be gentle, please Smiley

GENERAL
1. Don't be an afkhero and don't go afk during timed event, especially if you're aiming for mount. If you need to poop, do it before. If you need to put your pizza in the oven, do it before. Standing in front of the boss with many minutes still left on timer when someone accidentaly went afk is just annoying.

2. Learn to buff, if you're a buffer. I know it's extremly hard to buff stamina, salvation or GOTW with one button, as it requires several things that you may miss for that moment (like memory, bind or brain), but at least pretend to do it properly.

3. You can't do a smooth run with stacked classes like 4 x elemental shaman, 5 x druid, 10 x holy priest. Don't bring friends just because "they want to replace their greens" and they're your friends. Zul'Aman is really restrictive in terms of proper raid composition, otherwise you'll waste your time in one run till next reset. Also, if someone tells you "good dps, good gear" and you see a Karazhan stuff, this will be a crappy DPS and a crappy run. T5+ for smooth, 1 hour and half clear.

4. Use Group Loot with Rare treetshold for timed event. Goes way faster.

5. Don't NEED on items that aren't your mainspec. It is lame to NEED on Berserker's Call as feral tank, it is lame to NEED on Hex Shrunken Head as holy paladin. GREED if you need for offspec, if you won't get it this time, you'll get it next- it has 2 days reset only.

6. Don't GREED on items that you can't use or won't use at all. We do use designated disenchanters, if you're aware of items being forgotten.

7. Don't annoy your raid with "MB". If you're doing timed event, learn to hug mana/healing pots, learn to drop manatide, learn to drink up 10-15% mana between pulls.

8. Don't open cages at timed event.

9. If you aim for 3-4 chests, learn to use consumables.

GENERAL TACTICS
1. If you're a tank, just chainpull. If your target is dead, grab another one: break sheep (if it's not Flame Caster/Medicine Man) or pull next group (if it's not big).

2. If you're a CCer, do it. If you need to sheep, don't just sheep once and forget it, pay attention to your mob: all Amaani Guardians spamdispell all forms of CC, so counter it by spamccing.

3. If you're a shadow priest, use MC: you can MC Flame Casters, Medicine Men (heal raid), Reinforcements, Axe Throwers, Handlers. Saves a lot of your healers' mana and your dpsers' time, so be helpful.

4. If you're at scouts area, don't be a retard that focuses yourself on {skull} and pops tunnel-vision mode. Pay attention that scouts do spawn at random spots at random time, if you see one, don't hestiate to root/stun/damage it with your biggest abilities. Don't wait for markings or raid warnings, use your eyes.

5. Use all >15 minutes abilities on Nalorrak and Halazzi (like warriors' Recklessness or shaman's Fire Elemental). All lower CDed abilities should be used on every boss (like Heroism).

DETAILED TACTICS
AKIL'ZON
1. If you're a maintank at gauntlet part and one of two mobs that you tanked died, just pull new group.

2. All tanks should intervene the most aggroing aoer.

3. As offtank focus on handling all birds and small trolls from behind. If you see the maintank is pulling a new group with still some mobs on him, help him out.

4. Tanks MUST USE challenging shout/roar here. It saves a lot of time for generating aggro and allows your dpsers to just spamaoe. By the time you kill Akil'zon, the cooldown will be off.

5. Don't be a retard that must be reminded by raidmembers to ENTER PLATFORM. If you need to rest, get inside first, then start drinking and stuff.

6. Don't be a retard that is 23552 kms away from Akil'zon. Stay at max range near the green-squareish area around the boss.

7. If you die to the cloud, you're just stupid. You don't need raidwarnings, all you need is to watch DBM/BigWigs timers and go to boss 5-6 secs before storm.

8. Loot your badge, mount up and ride to Nalorrak. You don't need to ride through whole gauntlet part, you can head down from Akil'zon's stairs and jump from the wall. Sure, it's 20-30% HP lost, but saves couple of seconds. Jump from the wall in the way that you won't be dismounted.

9. If you die on trash, just corpse run or perform [Rebirth].

NALORRAK
1. Maintank tanks {skull}, offtank 1-2 several mobs. The rest should be CCed.

2. If you're a DPSer, let your tanks break all CC. Don't be an idiot by dotting sheeped Medicine Men - their immunity totem is too much danger for raid in terms of wasted time.

3. If Medicine Man drops any totems (one makes his friends immune, another heals a lot), destroy it. Don't rely on "rogues should kill it", if you can dps, just do it.

4. At 4-trolls pack just before boss, healers, keep in mind that bear riders enrage at 25% increasing their damage and after dismount, the bear applies sunder armor. Keep your tanks up.

5. When bear riders dismount, tanks should remember that the bear WILL AGGRO a healer at first. Shieldslam, taunt, heroic strike or whatever to pick him up.

6. Sort tanks before pull: one for troll, another for bear. Both tanks MUST stand on each other to share [Brutal Swipe].

7. Tank him with his back at raid. Don't reposition him at all during the fight - it may hit a melee with random cleave. If he charges a random raid member, simply stand still and just rotate if you need to face him, but don't move.

8. Tanks shouldn't overaggro each other. At bear phase, let your troll tank just keep refreshing debuffs on boss, don't produce additional threat. At troll phase, your bear tank should just share cleave and gtfo, don't overaggro.

9. Healers: you're silenced for 2 secs in bear phase. Keep your bear tank topped all the time, hot him up if possible. Save any kinds of [Nature's Swiftness] especially for this tank.

10. You can reset Nalorrak by running down the stairs.

11. If you die on trash just corpse run or perform [Rebirth].

JAN'ALAI

1. Have a designated rooter (should be an offtank) or charger (should be a fury warrior and- if not present, your maintank) to deal with scouts. Don't wait for markings, deal with scouts fast. Pay attention that scouts CAN RESIST roots, so cast/use only your biggest abilities (shadowbolt, pyroblast, bloodthirst, stormstrike, etc.)

2. Don't ninjapull the second pack, that stands to the right of the first campfire, hiding in bushes.

3. There is a lot of randomization in packs setups. Usually you'll have either 2 x Flame Caster & 1 x Amaani Guardian or 1 x Flame Caster & 2 x Amaani Guardian. If 2 x FC, CC one, nuke another, then guardian, then CCed FC. If 1 x FC, permaCC (you gonna need to spamsheep/spamfear/spamMC due to Guardian's dispelling) him and deal with guardians first.

4. If you see a patrol wandering to Jan'alai (that one with 1 Beast Tamer and 2 Dragonhawks) don't wait for him to move away, just kill. However, if it's far, just skip it. If you don't kill it, you'll need to move onbottom of the stairs leading to Jan'alai to prevent that patrol being ninjapulled later. Don't forget about totems left behind.

5. Sort your tanks. Your feral druid/protection paladin should tank dragonhawks.

6. By saying 'left side' and 'right side' you should understand the platforms WHEN LOOKING AT BOSS BEFORE PULL. In general, right is east, left is west.

7. Sort your melees to kill right troll. If they let him hatch anything, your melees are supposed to deal with those spawned dragonhawks as well.

8. Assign one designated left hatcher's HP controler. Let him DPS him down to 20-30% and then just leave him. Finish him off when the side is cleared.

10. Sort tactics: either you gonna wipe the left side INSIDE platform (if so, the left-side group SHOULD MOVE there before pull + you need to assign a healer just for that platform) or OUTSIDE (easier healing but worse tanking/aoeing). You must clear each side in maximum of 2 pulls. Don't forget about killing the left hatcher, when he finishes his job.

11. Tank the boss in middle.

12. If you die on boss or trash, wait for ress. Too much risk of pulling a respawned scout, especially, if you're an idiot.

13. You can reset Jan'alai by pulling him down the stairs. BUT DON'T MISS THEM, as the north stairs are one-way only. Reset him by simply running down souther stairs.

14. Keep your tank up at enrage.

15. Pop Earth Elemental / Heroism / AOE Taunt when he summons all dragonhawks.

HALAZZI
1. Take the north stairs at Jan'ali, run down, take a left turn and go straight ahead till the middle of Zul'Aman. Then head north and climb up to the trees-area. There is a 2-trolls patrol wandering, DON'T NINJAPULL it.

2. AOE first group of Lynxes and after that, wait for patrol (consisted of 2 x Beast Tamers and 2 x Lynxes) move away. When it does, take a shortcut through huts. Basically, jump through the windows. You should do it when mounted. After huts just hug the left wall (you'll be at Halazzi's exit door) and just keep going.

3. Best way to deal with all Lynxes packs is to kill them one by one. Don't use Seed of Corruption near neutral crocolisk, or you'll aggro them all.

4. If you die on Halazzi's trash wait for ressurection or pop ankh/SS. It's too far for corpserunning, and you're already short on timer.

5. Shamans should remember, that the Beast Tamers' mind control can be both grounded by totem or purged. Use it wisely.

6. When heading towards Halazzi's chamber, run in the middle - don't ninjapull sides.

7. Inside Halazzi's chamber there is a 2 x Amaani Guardians patrol wandering all around the place on a very long pathroute. Tank should, by hugging right corner, rotate his camera to check if they're just around the corner, comming. If so, they should be pulled as first. If not, deal with 3-man groups. Pay attention, that if you pull the 3-man groups that you can ninjapull the patrol with some misplaced sheep or totem.

8. Sort your tanks: one for Lynx, another for Halazzi.

9. Your tanks MUST stand on each other to share cleave (that is really oftenly used).

10. Your DPS should continue DPSing Halazzi at Lynx phase.

11. When Lynx spawns, he does it in totally random place around Halazzi. Don't rely on mouse to select, it's way too many things around the boss, use [tab] button to switch the targets. Lynx will rush to the healer, so pick him up REALLY, REALLY quickly (he can oneshoot cloth or leather users).

12. Remember, that if you're a lynx tank and you AOE taunt, you'll taunt the boss as well.

13. Totem should be killed by ALL dpsers except shadow priests.

14. Don't forget to dispell flame shock immediately, especially if it's on your tanks.

15. You can't reset Halazzi.

So much of timed event, now the rest:

1. Go and loot all chests you got. Use your brain while running through scouts area. You don't need to follow your raid leader to be able to still roll on loot. You can get it anywhere in the instance if you were on the boss' killshot.

HEX LORD MALACRASS
1. Amaani Berserkers aren't tauntable, so watch aggro. Tank them to the wall, as they have a small knockback.

2. At 4-man group before Hex Lord Malacrass, CC Medicine Man (to prevent him dropping immunity totem) and kill Flame Caster if you don't have any more CC (if you do, CC him as well). Focus on killing Amaani Tempest as first (he does a nasty AOE) but remember, he's not tauntable.

3. Hex Lord depends all on adds. Generally, always kill 2 and perma CC the remaining (it'll help your tank to generate some aggro on Hex Lord). Always use sheep and shackle if you have, banish only if lacking those abilities (you can't control banish, so it can be tricky- it's often advisable for CCers to let offtank build the initial aggro on all mobs so if they break, they won't rush a healer instantly). Hunter's trap shouldn't be used, hibernate should be used only during the pull. In terms of danger to the raid, this is the descending order from most dangerous to least:
- blood elf bitch (heals) (sheepable, fear, trap)
- dragonkin (stacking fire debuff + flame breath, lot's of damage) (hibernate, fear)
- ghost (fears) (shackle, fear)
- big Laotheb style dude (one-shoots things) (shackle, fear)
- elemental (banish, fear)
- lizard (spits at random targets leaving a DOT) (hibernate, sheep, fear)
- imp (fireballs at random targets) (banish, fear)
- ogre (sheep, fear, trap)
You should use your CC for most dangerous mobs and kill the least dangerous. Remember, that bloodelf, ogre and imp goes down really fast.

4. Dealing with Hex Lord's abilities is totally random, but just remember those basics:
- if he whirlwinds, melee run away
- if he fears, dispell your maintank
- if he thorns, melee stop dpsing
- if he lifeblooms, purge or spellsteal at all costs
- if he moonfires, move away from the spot
- if he rains of fire, move away (and reposition boss if neccessary)
- if he frostbolts, interrupt
- if he chain lightnings, interrupt
- if he drops fire nova, destroy it or reposition boss
- if he healing waves, interrupt at all costs
- if he holy lights, interrupt at all costs
- if he consecrates, move the hell out of it and reposition boss at all costs

5. Dealing with Spirit Bolts can be tricky with only two healers, so remember couple of things:
- CoH priests and shamans' chain heal rocks here - don't spread out too much
- pop heroism at later spirit bolts
- use concetration aura of paladin - if needed, switch him to healers' group
- buff shadow protection on raid
- if you face problems with healing, all healing capable classes like enhancement/elemental shamans, feral offtank, etc. should help out whatever they can
- use healing potions and healthstones
- SS healers

6. You can't reset Hex Lord.

ZUL'JIN
1. Just AOE all nonelities upon opening the door, no needs to tank those.

2. Your offtank should go in his/her DPS gear.

3. Mark shadow priest/holy priest and inform your raid to hug him in Phase 2.

4. AOE nonelites, don't bother tanking them.

5. Stop dotting at 2-3% to next phase. Stop DPS and healing when he switches. Let your tank shieldslam/heroic strike to grab aggro. The boss is not tauntable.

6. Phase 1:
- overheal Grewious Thrown
- don't get smacked by Whirlwind, if you do, you're an idiot; just use whole hitbox of Zul'jin
- tank in the middle

7. Phase 2:
- overheal and spamheal tank; he overpowers for 7k
- tank should gimp his dodge a bit
- if you have [Mass Dispell], gather at priest and use it wisely
- if you don't have [Mass Dispell], dispell main tank as first AT ALL COSTS (he can't dodge/parry/block when paralyzed), then all healers; don't dispell DPS; if you fail at fast dipselling, you're an idiot, because you just wiped the raid

8. Phase 3:
- spread out; physical DPSers go nuts; tank should just keep sunder armour refreshed
- if you don't do DPS because you're a caster or tank, try to attract tornados to you, pick them up from melees or healers
- cast only your biggest heals and biggests spells if you need
- casters can wand thorough the whole fight- always some DPS

9. Phase 4:
- gather at Zul'jin, don't be spreaded out- chainheal shines here
- all healing capable classes should spamheal the rushed person
- tank should keep Demoralizing Shout/Thunderclap on boss to make rushed person's life easier
- if you can do it, pop shield/evasion/barkskin/dire bear
- if you can do it, pop power word:shield on rushed person
- don't use fast-small heals (like Flash of Light or Lesser Healing Wave), use your big heals- it's 10 hits for 2-4k HP on cloth, so you need to outheal it
- don't intervene boss at rush, it's pointless (unfortunately)

10. Phase 5:
- move away if he fire columns you; if too many fire columns around him, reposition the boss

11. You can't reset Zul'jin.

12. Rest INSIDE his platform, it closes after pull, so don't be this afk hero that everyone is waiting to kindly enter.

Congratulations on smooth Zul'Aman clear!

We've recently begun doing these and now have 4 people with bear mounts. This is where you need to put 110% the whole time until all the bosses are dead. Everybody in the raid has to be flasked and you can never wipe. You will have a difficult time even if one or two people die. Don't bother looting the bosses or the chests until after the entire event, they won't despawn and you need all the time you can get. These are really fun and you should have a great time doing them (pally tanks ftw). Aside from getting a bear at the end you also get extra loot each boss.
