At the same time? My old guitar instructor used to do something like that. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8360842481872579362

I really enjoyed both songs.
What kind of keyboard(s) do you play?

its recorded in about 30 or 40 layers with my laptop and some fancy high end music editing and producing programs i have. (reason/nero/mixers/midi/m-audio external sound card/multi monitor setup/a guitar input and digital interace/ 1 usb korg axion keyboard and an old midi keyboard). Generally i begin with the simplest instruments, piano for one, and begin to embelish with guitar bass and drums. while it seems as though more people have come together to play the song as a whole, infact its just an illusion, its only made with 2 people. me, and a vocalist. About $2000 worth of hardware and another $1500 in programs and knowledge of music and you can do it at home too! Btw i have 6 different guitars in my room, including my ibanez, les paul, acoustic cordova, and another handful of electric and acoustic guitars makes each song have its own personality. thanks for listening, i will post more in the future

So you use your keyboard(s) as controllers for your DAW software and then use the instruments in the software for the recording? I'm asking because I play too (keyboard and guitar) and recently started dabbling in the computer based recording stuff.

i have a friend that does similar things that you do, excepr he uses actual recording equipment. he will lay down the drums, then use a play record option to add each layer of the song by adding each instument one at a time. then finally he adds the vocals for the final layer. i know he doesn t have all the pc programs you do, but he does store the tracks on his computer, i think he has a mixing board, or something that allows him to sync up the tracks/layers of the song so it all floes, the end result being some pretty impressive music. hats off to anyone talented enough to do all this, as much as i love music u have no talent for it.

thats virtually what i do to mag. I started with some techno and industrial music that, before i had a vocalist, I would just find audio clips on the internet and use those (from movies usually). but everything would be recorded with keyboards. I would keep layering tracks again and again using Reason 3.0/4.0. I'm not real proud of my techno/industrial/easy listening stuff, mainly because i was still new to my equipment when i wrote them. I decided to turn the music in a different direction towards something that people can actually bare to listen to lmao, i know techno is not in real demand. I did however in my time remix a song by mindless self indulgence. they have a song named "straight to video" in which they released an accapella version of the song for bands to remix, i spliced the lyrics around and made my own song, actually made 2, one is with most of their lyrics, but not all in the same spot, and the other is when i was going through a dark time directly after i broke up with my girlfriend. I sent in my songs to MSI and they loved it but their cd was already released, they did want to put my 2nd (dark) song on their cd though, said it was very original. You will appreciate how I named the artist of the song as "Deathcoil" lmao...
