So, I finally bought my first car a few days ago.  It's a 2002 Ford Escort ZX2.  It's not in that bad of shape, but for the money I paid from the guy I got it from, I felt like he could have gone an extra mile to make it look good.  I've spent the passed two days cleaning the exterior and interior.  Years of dirt, cat hairs, and mud almost obliterated.  You should have seen the spare tire stored in the trunk.  It was covered in wet mud.  The guy just put in an air freshener to hide the smell.  There's still a few things I want to do before I start making it my own.  Putting on missing accessories/equipment.   The lock and bolt is missing from the passenger side and a top is missing from the driver's side.  Ashtray and lighter missing from the dash (although I'm not sure if I just want to replace it with something else).  Hopefully I can do some touch-ups to the paint without it looking worse than cracking paint.  On to the pictures!

Congratulations man!  When we talked 6 months ago this was one of the goals on your list, I'm proud of you for sticking to your goals and getting things where you want them.  Well done!  Welcome to the joys of car ownership!  Cheesy

Thanks, guys.  It's been pretty exhilirating.  All I want to do is make it look better every day!  It looks a bit nicer now too since I spent a couple hours rubbing all rubber, vinyl, and plastic bits I could reach with Son of a Gun! Protectant.  Sort of smells like Play-Doh.   Kiss

N'yuk-n'yuk-n'yuk.  It took quite a lot of elbow grease to get the engine bay to look "that good".  I can't wait 'till I start yanking crap out and giving them all a good rub down!

I also finally got my license today.  Look out!  Gramps is going 35 in a 35 down a busy street near you!
