About LaG
Often people question exactly what LaG is and where it came from, so this is our attempt to make the world understand who we are, what we stand for, where we came from and where we plan to go.
Who We Are
LaG is a group of like-minded individuals who have found each other over the internet because of a common interest: Playing online games with friendly people in a fair and equal environment.
What We Stand For
LaG stands for playing online games on an equal playing field. For the most part, LaG believes in installing a new game, adjusting the controls to your liking and playing. Nothing more should be required for fun, fair games to be played.

Where We Came From
Firstly, to understand LaG one must understand that there is a society of people who are not bound by geographical borders who play computer games over the internet against and with each other. This society has celebrity, villains, royalty and heroes. It is within this society that LaG exists and has done so for quite some time.
LaG started as an idea shared between founder Donnie Garvich and some friends who were local to him geographically. They had always played video games together (mostly console games) and had recently begun to get into the wonders of online FPS (First Person Shooter) games. As their interest in these games grew so did their skills and they quickly became a group who could easily defeat almost any randomly put together group of internet gamers.
Figuring correctly that there had to be better competition out there for these games, they began researching an underground society known as "clans" which competed with each other in Epic's legendary FPS: Unreal Tournament.
Donnie spent short stint with the first clan that ever recruited him (DxD); until the leader of that clan fell ill and was hospitalized for some time. Without the direction of the clan leader the clan members began to wander in different directions and lose focus. During this time, Donnie began to ponder the possibilities of creating a new clan.
Along with one of the DxD members (aka BP) and one of the original "local" friends (aka BLU3_5TEEL) LaG was created. An IRC channel was made and the new clan set out to recruit talented players.
For nearly 6 years the process of forming new teams, recruiting new players and climbing new ladders carried on within LaG, yielding multiple top ranked teams and seeing the arrival and departure of hundreds of personalities and dozens of games.
In 2002 and 2003 LaG was introduced to the MMORPG world by CCP's EVE Online. This sparked the interest of many members but failed to catch the attention of everyone. It did, however, mark a new trend in LaG that would turn out to be a significant one in the future.
In 2005, LaG began to adjust to this new trend within the clan and started taking on new initiatives, most notably the joining of the MMORPG realm with a short stint in Shadowbane and eventually our guild in Blizzard's World of Warcraft.
Our World of Warcraft guild marks the first time in the history of LaG that all of the players have united under a single game. The challenges presented by this are new (we were used to teams of 7-10 players, now we're dealing with 100+) and challenging but have further shaped how LaG handles itself. We have met all of the new challenges and dealt with them the same way we always have... having a laugh and a good time.
That is where we are today, plugging away as Horde on the Zuluhed realm. We are now a medium-sized guild running end-game instances, world PVP, forming alliances with friendly guilds and having a blast meeting new people and introducing them into the LaG culture.
Where We Plan To Go
LaG has always been about playing games with friends. In the process of playing games with friends we have become competitive on many fronts. In 2007 we successfully refocused ourselves on fun games played with people we like. With that solid foundation in place and an amazing core group of gamers we plan to spend 2008 pressing ourselves to be better at playing games without ever diluting the fun environment we have created.
We have always attempted to provide a place where players can hang out, have fun and escape from the stresses of the everyday. Our goal is to provide a fun, friendly atmosphere for as many people as possible and we look forward to continuing to do so.
